@lordebuilds: When AI changes six things in one request and one breaks, you don’t have one bug. You have six suspects. Part four of Building Better With AI. Imagine you’re building a task board and ask AI to add card creation, editing, moving, deletion, due dates, and filters—all in one request. The result can look completely finished. But then you create a card called “Send proposal,” move it from To Do to Done, refresh the page—and it jumps back to To Do. Because all six behaviours were implemented together, you don’t know whether the move failed, the new status wasn’t saved, the page loaded old information, or another generated change interfered. The batch is simply too large to inspect properly. Instead, build one complete user action at a time: 1. Create “Send proposal,” refresh, and confirm it remains in To Do. 2. Save that working version. 3. Move the card to Done, refresh, and confirm it stays there. 4. Save the new working version. 5. Only then add deletion, refresh, and confirm the card remains gone. Now, if moving the card fails, you know which small change introduced the problem. You can fix or undo it without losing the working version of card creation. When building with AI, smaller requests are not about making AI slower. They make AI-generated changes easier to understand, test, debug, and reverse.
