Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken" sounds a lot less impressive when you remember Dorne's historical survival strategy is a mix of pure luck, getting completely scorched, and committing literal war crimes. Bragging about taking down Meraxes is wild. they didn't use elite military strategy; they closed their eyes, fired a scorpion bolt into the sky, and got a one-in-a-million lucky shot. they didn't beat the dragon they won the Westerosi lottery they love to boast about that mysterious peace letter, but conveniently ignore that Aegon burned half of Dorne to absolute glass before he even opened it. The Martells didn't stop the Conqueror; they just begged for mercy after he turned their keeps into giant ash trays.Dornish pride is hilarious. You survived Aegon the Conqueror by hiding under desert rocks like scorpions while your country burned, all because you were riding the high of a lucky fluke against Meraxes for a kingdom that says they can't be untamed they were pretty tamed by daeron a child of 14 with no dragons and imagine killing a an 18 year old boy in peace banner when they can't beat them in battle the freys amd martels belong in the same category (this doesn't apply on elia ofcourse)
