The Mukluk Fire is pushing through extremely dry vegetation toward residential areas, forcing Level 3 “GO” evacuations as residents are told to leave immediately. Homes and other structures are now in the path of the fire as crews scramble to protect property. Four helicopters, smokejumpers, engines, dozers and additional firefighters have been thrown into the fight as the fire continues burning east and northeast.
