The absolutely worst part about that video is the age of that man. I 100% had the same life philosophy when I was a teenager and I believed that pulling yourself from the bootstraps was a real thing but then I grew up. It's scary to think that he is that old and doesn't realize that everything is connected.

its such circular logic for them. "you want more money, get a better job" but wages are stagnant across the board "go somewhere else" they all pay the same low wages "negotiate for better wages" so more unions? "no, unions are socialism. you need to negotiate by yourself with a corporation that has an immense power imbalance that they have created and leveraged against us." this endless defense of exploitative corporations intentionally impoverished their employees to maximize their own profits while blaming the people who have lost all the mobility they used to have and calling them lazy, even though theyre working harder and being more productive then any generation before them.
