Auggie started plucking again 😔 Luckily, I caught the early signs and we started hormone therapy before it escalated. Lupron is not a fix all for hormone related issues or behaviors. It is still imperative to minimize environmental hormone triggers. However, it sometimes can be beneficial, particularly with females who have plucking/barbering issues and/or are chronic egg layers. Generally, when it works, Lupron wears off in 3-9 months. So it is not surprising that we will need to do therapy every six months, when hormone seasons (spring/fall) start in order to keep Auggie fluffy year round 😊 #auggie #rescue #bird #hormones
