@thepotterystudio: Things I learnt the hard way in pottery, Part 3. This one hurts because I actually knew better. I made a mould of a pregnant belly and left it sitting on an upside-down bowl to dry. I thought there was plenty of space around it for the clay to shrink, but I left it for too long and the tension from the shrinkage eventually cracked the mould straight down the middle. A good reminder that knowing what you should do and actually doing it are two very different things. Sometimes you still have to learn the hard way 😅
