look at the size of the death star and the amount of power it can output, the fact that the only exhaust port and it was that small is an amazing feat of engineering, complaining about the death star exhaust port as a weakness is like saying cops can take down cars by throwing tennis balls to plug up the cars exhaust

Mines less of a plot hole and more explaining a joke everyone gets wrong. In family guy when Peter says he doesn't like the godfather because it "insists upon itself" it's completely misunderstood. Peter is an idiot, the phrase "it insists upon itself" literally doesn't mean anything. The entire joke is that Peter wants to sound smart for not liking it, that's why he can't defend himself when hes pressed by Chris and lois. Idk why everyone misunderstood that joke and now unironically uses the phrase like it has any meaning

The Eagles of Middle Earth are truly sentient and free. they are also extremely prideful. the book makes it crystal clear that the Lord of Eagles would have fallen to the Ring immediately and that if it weren't for the wizards calling in a couple centuries of favors they would have let the Kingdoms of Men handle business in the lower lands. they can steal sheep from Sauron as easily as they could get them from Denethor

The one ring can and does effect people not wearing multiple times throughout the story, Boromir tries to kill frodo to get it, Sam sees himself with a vast army and a beautiful garden, even Gandalf and Galatrial are tempted by it. So no they could not have put the the ring on a rat and carried it to mordor that way, this is subsequently why the eagles couldn't have taken them to mordor because they too were sentient beings, who would have been corrupted by the ring.

Also, for what it's worth, Tom Bombadil. there's a surprising number of people who "read the books" but apparently missed the part where Gandalf explains that Tom is just a goofy goober who literally too powerful to give a shit about the ring because Sauron can't effect him anyway

I haven't seen people say it's a plot hole, and it's not one, but why can't people just imagine that it was necessary for, you know, EXHAUST. the thing they said it was?? It was an exhaust port.

Mine is on Ant-Man. They explain earlier on the shrinking works by shrinking the distance between atoms. You keep your atomic mass, and therecfor your weight. Meaning A, Ant-ony can carry a 200lbs man by himself; and Hank Pym can carry a 30 ton tank in his pocket for 20 years.

except we did need Rogue One to explain. sure the empire knew about the exhaust port and put the trench there, and maybe they knew it would cause some damage, but they DIDN'T know that it would cause a chain reaction that would blow up the whole thing, which was the whole point of the sabotage by Urso. if they did know about that, they'd have parked a Star Destroyer right over it
