@korbi.explains: So there are always two sides to the story. I for one think that a free market is important - with some sort of regulatory institution. The German system is in my opinion not a bad blue print. Still hope you learned something #monopoly #company #communism #goviral #CapCut

“Capitalism breeds innovation” but it’s become increasingly impossible for people to be innovative and introduce new inventions or medical innovations because big companies and healthcare providers make it impossible to break into the market without selling the patent to said large company, and especially when it comes to healthcare development and plastic-free because healthcare companies make more money if people get sick or terminally ill more, and eco-safe technologies cost an investment that large companies don’t care to buy the patent for/use, and again small businesses can’t compete with them. Early-stage capitalism around the time of the industrial revolution did mean a lot of new inventions but as the wealth from that time compounded and grew into monopolies the economy has been centered around buying/consuming and not putting out anything new except harmful AI models 🫩

This was just a big explanation of monopolies😭 you said in the last few seconds that a company gets incredibly large it isn’t the free market failing and that the real danger begins when “the competition stops working” even though that’s exactly what’s happening irl because they are so large so nothing was really said, is this just an explanation?

I think you forgot to mention that large companies like nestle or coca cola commit human rights violations all the time and get away with it because they're difficult to boycott due to their size and difficult to monitor due to operating in multiple countries

I don’t wanna act like I understand this in as much depth as you do, but using logic here, as well as common internet logic about these bigger parent companies like Nestle, Danone, P&G, etc, the bigger the company gets the more greedy it becomes, and the more morally ethical it stays, if it even had ethics to begin with. Take a famous example like nestle, it has and will do whatever means necessary to ensure growth in capital, sales, and revenue, be it by polluting water bodies in Africa and America selling killer baby formula, and so on and so forth. I think that’s also a big issue. Not that it becomes a giant itself, but what comes WITH becoming a giant.

What about the political influence these companies hold. I think that is also a negative thing about them.

Big corporation ≠ monopoly

Paul 🔻 :
This is simply a bad faith interpretation of the “free market” based on a short term product of monopolization. If a monopoly is able to consolidate a grip over an entire industry, it may be able to lower costs and therefore prices of products, but it also means those corporations can manipulate prices to meet its profit margins, resulting in overproduction and a false sense of scarcity if a company chooses to withhold products. Within communist systems, the control of markets allows for small companies to thrive in different industries, drastically increasing competition and therefore decreasing the prices of all products and goods (look at China). Remember, communism isn’t the absence of commerce, it’s the ability to control it for working people.
