You deserve it after today.” Emi looked at them, then smiled confidently. “Sure. But I need to ask my wife first.” Her office mate raised an eyebrow. “Your wife? Are you scared of her?” Emi immediately shook her head. “Scared? Me? Never.” She pulled out her phone and proudly opened her chat with Bonnie. “Watch this. Bonnie will definitely let me go.” She typed quickly. Emi: Baby, my office mates invited me for drinks after work. Can I go? A few seconds later, Bonnie replied. Bonnie: No. Emi stared at the screen. Her office mate tried not to laugh. “Maybe she didn’t understand.” Emi frowned and typed again. Emi: Just for a little while. I’ll be home early. Bonnie: You’re not drinking. Come home.” Emi slowly lowered her phone. Her office mate burst out laughing. “Didn’t you just say you weren’t scared?” Emi straightened her back. “I’m not scared. I simply respect my wife’s decisions.” Another message appeared. Bonnie: And don’t make me come there. Emi immediately stood up. “Okay, guys. I’m going home.” Her office mate laughed even harder. “Wow. That was fast!” Emi grabbed her bag. “I suddenly remembered I love being alive.” When she got home, Bonnie was waiting by the door with her arms crossed. “You’re home early.” Emi smiled innocently. “Yes, baby. I missed you.” Bonnie raised an eyebrow. “You were supposed to go drinking.” “I was invited.” “And?” “And I remembered I have a very beautiful wife who told me to come home.” Bonnie tried to hide her smile. “Good girl.” Emi walked closer and whispered, “See? I’m not scared of you.” Bonnie smiled sweetly. “Really?” Emi paused. “Okay.
