@ophelia_042: This parenting book is teaching me what I wish I’d learned as a child—how to name emotions, handle big feelings, and stay connected. #emotions #parenting #MomsofTikTok #empathy #motherhood
My thing is. I start off with many of the positive versions, but after saying it 10x, it’s time to get funky!!!

“Would you like to finish this now or after dinner” is great but if your child refuses to choose one of the option and throws a tantrum anyway despite the gentle approach then what do you do?

The kids grow up and expected to get talked like that to all the time. Sorry but gentle parenting creates kids who have no boundaries.

This is not for the neurospicy children. The recommended forms can be even more damaging and cause them to question everything. Not every parenting style works for every child. And that’s okay. Love them. Show them kindness. Do not be angry. They can’t follow rules they don’t know or they don’t understand. Instead of assuming they are being defiant, find better ways for them to understand. Be creative.

If this worked on every child every child would be the same. Different parenting for different children. We’re all different. Unrealistic expectations.

When I have already told my child multiple times to do something I firmly direct it and once she’s done with what I asked of her then we play toys together. You parent your children how you see fit. You know your child best and no one can be for sure how to parent all kids. Every child is different. Just don’t be mean to your child and learn to apologize when you wronged them. Hug it out and just love them.

My 2 and 4 year old would bully me if I tried the gentle parent approach. I like it that way. Gentle parenting raises pushover kids and kids who think they can get away with things they weren’t supposed to be doing.

I feel like some situations deserve a stern approach, but most don't. The true answer is to be adaptable and LISTEN

My beautiful girl. No matter how unhealed or healing I have to do she will never get the brunt of it. She is my whole world and reason for living. I give her everything I wish I had. mentally, physically, emotionally and verbally. She will never go to bed wondering if she’s loved. She will never feel like an apology isn’t enough.
