Today I hit 1,500 hours in the sky. A milestone I’ve been working toward for a long time, the minimum time to become an airline pilot. 👨‍✈️ A few things these 1,500 hours have taught me: 1. I can do hard things. Social media makes flying look like the easiest and most fun job in the world. And most days it is fun! But behind every post are countless hours of studying, early mornings, late nights, checkrides, bad weather, maintenance delays, setbacks, learning what ATOMATOFLAMES means, and a lot of hard work. It hasn’t always been easy, but that’s part of what makes the journey worth it. 2. Find people who support you and trust you. I wouldn’t be here without my parents, who have supported me every step of the way. I’m grateful for @flywithblitz , my coworkers who constantly push me to be better, and especially my students. Having someone trust me with their safety, and with their future as a pilot is something I’ll never take lightly. 3. Trust in Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father. My testimony has grown so much through flying. There have been moments in the airplane when decisions needed to be made quickly and calmly. In those moments, I’ve learned to trust my training and rely on Heavenly Father to calm my mind and help me make the safest decision. I know I didn’t get here on my own. 4. I picked the best career in the world. After 1,500 hours, I somehow love flying even more than when I started! I’m grateful for every takeoff, landing, student, lesson, challenge, and hour I’ve spent in the sky. 1,500 hours is a huge milestone, but it also feels like I’m just getting started. Here’s to the next chapter. Can’t wait for some heavy metal. ✈️🤘🏼 #aviation #1500hours
