I think Ekko never once let the Firelights knowledge when he was hurting. So much that, at some point, it wasn’t just a choice, but a habit. Maybe that’s why his grieving was far from other people’s eyes. That was the time he blamed himself the most. Because he’s been saying Powder is dead based on his own pain and disappointment. But now, she truly “is”. Now he get to feel the real pain of mourning someone you care for and never being able to see their face again. Poor baby :(
