I like to think they have the equivalent. For example if you got shot multiple times in the abdomen in the borderlands you would’ve suffered from crush injuries or impalement in the real world. In the real world chota, karube, and Arisu were all close by when when the meteorite struck Shibuya. Because Chota and Karube died in the game so Arisu could live, it means that in the real world, their physical bodies likely shielded Arisu from the blast radius, absorbing the fatal, crushing impact of the debris so that Arisu only suffered minor injuries and survived.

Every single person in the borderlands was still fighting for their life outside the borderlands… the borderlands is like limbo. Them dying in the borderlands, is them succumbing to their injuries on the outside world. They didn’t die in the ways they died in the other world

I thought the people in the borderlands were all injured just enough to possibly stay alive! The whole show was them fighting to keep themselves alive! I know their hearts stopped but it was just to a point where they could still live maybe? so i don’t think their deaths in the borderlands were guaranteed but they just lost the fight with life and death! I have no idea this is just how i personally comprehended it i could so be wrong!!

i think heiya was missing her leg because she survived the borderland with that injury, so someone dying with there head getting cut off wouldn’t happen in the real world, their hearts would stop beating
