@solitudenoire_: Two months had passed since Lauren and Natasha officially got engaged. The engagement was simple, attended only by their immediate families. There was no big party, no reporters, and not a single piece of news was intentionally shared with the public because from the beginning, they had both agreed to keep everything a secret until the right time came. After the engagement was over, their lives were actually filled with much busier preparations. From choosing the wedding venue, deciding on the decorations, picking out the dress, suit, flowers, and making sure every family member who would be attending knew every detail of the event. Everything was done quietly because they wanted that day to truly belong to them before finally letting everyone else know. Even during the past two months, Lauren and Natasha continued living their lives as usual in public. No posts. No interviews about their relationship. No hints about the wedding date. Only their families, a few close people, and trusted staff knew that the big day was getting closer. Until finally, exactly one day before the wedding, the news was announced to the public. One simple post from both families was enough to make the media and fans go crazy. Lauren Xaviera Schuett and Natasha Chloe Ar.Taecha were getting married. Tomorrow. Within minutes, their names filled almost every timeline. However, far away from all the chaos, Lauren was sitting alone in a hotel room that had been specially prepared for her. Her white wedding suit, complete with the shirt and trousers, was hanging neatly behind the door, protected by a long white garment bag that made its shape only vaguely visible from a distance. Several jewelry boxes were placed on the table, while a bouquet of flowers that had just been sent by the family was placed near the window, filling the entire room with a soft, calming scent. Lauren looked at her phone screen one more time. The post was still there. Hundreds of thousands of comments continued to come in every second. Most of them were congratulatory messages, while others admitted they couldn’t believe that Lauren and Natasha had managed to keep everything a secret so well for the past two months. Lauren smiled softly before finally placing her phone beside her and leaning her back against the sofa. For the first time since they started preparing for the wedding, everything felt real. Tomorrow, she would really marry Natasha. The thought made her chest feel warm and strange at the same time. Not because she was having doubts, but because for the past two months, she had been so busy making sure everything went perfectly that she never had the time to stop and realize that all those preparations were actually leading them to one very important day. A soft knock came from the door. Lauren turned her head. “Come in.” The door slowly opened, revealing Natasha standing there in simple clothes. Her hair was left loose, her face almost completely free of makeup, and a small smile immediately appeared when their eyes met. Lauren stared at her for a few seconds before letting out a soft laugh. “You shouldn’t be here.” Natasha closed the door behind her. “I know.” “Tomorrow we’re getting married. According to the tradition we agreed on, we’re not supposed to see each other tonight.” “I know that too.” “Then why did you still come?” Natasha walked closer before sitting at the same end of the sofa. “Because I’ve spent the last two months following almost every rule our families made. Just this once, I wanted to do something because it’s what I wanted.” Lauren shook her head with a smile. “And that something is secretly coming to your future wife’s room one day before the wedding?” “Future wife?” Natasha raised an eyebrow. “That still sounds so far away.” “Tomorrow you’ll get that title.” Lauren said proudly. “I can’t wait.” Natasha challenged. For a few moments, neither of them said anything. ——————— #LenaMiu #LalinaLena #MiuNatsha #AU #Fyp The Continuation ⬇️

—> The Continuation - Part 2 . The night grew later, but neither of them really wanted to leave. . They talked about the little things that had been overlooked too often during the past two months because of how busy they had been. About who would probably cry first tomorrow, about how their families would definitely make everything even more emotional, about how they had both tried to hide their rings for weeks, until they eventually laughed when they realized that almost everyone close to them had actually suspected something for a long time. . When Natasha finally stood up to leave, Lauren stood with her. . “Baby.” Lauren called. . Natasha stopped in front of the door and turned toward her. . “See you tomorrow, my future wife.” She said with a sweet smile. . Natasha looked at her for a long moment before walking back and wrapping her arms around Lauren. . The hug lasted quite a while, as if they were both trying to keep the feelings of that night with them and carry them into the next day. . “I love you,” Natasha whispered. . Lauren closed her eyes for a moment. . “I love you too.” . ——— . The next morning, the sun had not even fully risen when the entire wedding venue was already filled with activity. . White flowers filled the hallway leading to the main room. Small candles were placed along the tables, while thin cream-colored curtains moved gently in the breeze coming through the tall windows. Everything looked simple, elegant, and warm—exactly how they had wanted it from the beginning. . Behind the doors of their separate rooms, Lauren and Natasha were getting ready. . Lauren stood in front of the mirror in her wedding suit, which looked perfect on her. . She stared at her reflection. . Then the door opened. . Jayna, her closest cousin, walked in with eyes that immediately started to well up with tears. . Lauren let out a small laugh. “Don’t start.” . “I haven’t said anything yet.” Jayna said. . “But your face already did.” . They laughed together, even though the atmosphere in the room slowly became more emotional.

—> The Continuation - Part 4 . When they finally reached the altar, Adisson stopped in front of Lauren. . For a few seconds, no one said anything. . She looked at Lauren for a long moment before finally taking her daughter’s hand and slowly placing it into Lauren’s hand. . Lauren immediately held that hand carefully. . Adisson’s gaze moved from her daughter to Lauren. . “Take care of her.” . Lauren nodded, her eyes still fixed on Natasha. . “I promise.” . Adisson gave a small smile before gently patting Lauren’s shoulder and stepping back to join the family. . Natasha stood right in front of Lauren. . Lauren gently rubbed the back of the hand she was holding. . “You’re so beautiful,” Lauren whispered. . Natasha held back a smile, while Lauren took a deep breath before they both turned toward the priest standing in front of the altar. . The wedding ceremony began. . The priest opened the blessing with a calm voice, speaking about marriage as a bond built not only by love, but also by the willingness to choose each other every day. About two people who promise not only to stand together when life feels easy, but also to keep holding each other’s hands when things become much harder. . Lauren and Natasha listened quietly. . Every now and then, their eyes met again. . Neither of them needed to say anything to understand what they were feeling. . When it was time for their vows, the priest asked them to face each other. . Lauren turned fully toward Natasha. . Their hands were still intertwined. . “Lauren Xaviera Schuett,” the priest said gently, “do you willingly accept Natasha Chloe Ar.Taecha as your life partner, to love her, honor her, protect her, and remain by her side through joy and sorrow, in sickness and in health, from this day forward and for the rest of your life?” . Lauren took a slow breath. . Her eyes never left Natasha’s. . “I do.” . Lauren’s voice sounded calm, but the slight tremble at the end of her sentence made Natasha smile through her emotions.

—> The Continuation - Part 3 . Elsewhere, Natasha had also finished getting ready. The dress she had chosen made her look elegant without taking away the softness that had always been part of her. Her hair was styled simply, with a few strands left to frame her face, while a long veil fell almost all the way to the floor. She stood in front of the mirror and took a deep breath as the sounds from the main room began to reach her faintly. . The day had finally come. . No longer a plan. . No longer a date hidden on a secret calendar. . No longer something only their families knew about. . That day truly belonged to them. . ——— . A few moments later, the large doors to the wedding room opened. . The guests who had been waiting immediately stood up. The music filling the ballroom became softer, slowly flowing between the rows of chairs decorated with white flowers and green leaves. . Lauren was already standing at the altar, facing the place where she would welcome Natasha’s hand. Wearing a white suit that made her look so different from usual, her gaze remained the same—calm on the outside, while her fingers occasionally intertwined because she was nervous. . Then Natasha appeared. . She walked slowly beside Adisson down the aisle covered with white flower petals. Her wedding dress fell beautifully with every step, while the long veil covering part of her face meant Lauren could only see the outline of her features from a distance. But the closer Natasha got, the harder it became for Lauren to keep her calm expression. . Tears began to fill her eyes, and she could no longer hold them back. . It was because, for the first time, she was truly seeing the woman she had only been able to imagine standing there, walking toward her as someone who was ready to spend the rest of her life with her. . Natasha never stopped looking at Lauren either. . A small smile appeared on her face several times whenever their eyes met, as if she wanted to say that everything happening that day was truly real. Adisson, who was walking beside her, glanced at her daughter and smiled softly when she realized that from the very beginning, Natasha’s eyes had been fixed on only one person.

—> The Continuation - Part 8 . “Papa, don’t continue. I’m embarrassed.” . Adisson wasn’t finished. . “And when you suddenly cancel your dates, she hugs me and complains again. She says, ‘Papa, Lauren is so busy that she canceled our date even though I was already ready.’ At that point, I didn’t know how to respond, because she gets so clingy with you. Even I, her father, can’t compete.” . The whole room burst into laughter again. . Lauren gently rubbed the back of her neck. . “I’m sorry.” She said softly while reaching for Natasha’s hand and holding it tightly. . Natasha quickly shook her head with a smile. . “I never get mad.” . Adisson immediately pointed at his daughter. “See, that’s the problem.” . Lauren and Natasha looked at each other. . Adisson let out a soft sigh before smiling warmly. . “Starting today…” His gaze returned to Lauren. . “If you get too busy with work and end up working late until you lose track of time.” . He pointed at Natasha. “She has permission to drag you home.” . Laughter broke out again. . Even Lauren laughed this time. . The nervousness that had filled her chest since morning slowly turned into a sense of calm. . Because she knew… . She hadn’t just gained a partner. . She had also gained another family that had accepted her wholeheartedly. . ——— . After the entire blessing ceremony and the family speeches were over, the atmosphere slowly became more relaxed. The guests began moving toward the main ballroom where the reception would take place, while Lauren and Natasha were taken to separate rooms to change their outfits before returning to meet everyone. . A few dozen minutes later, the ballroom doors opened again. . The conversations that had filled the ballroom slowly faded when the large doors at the end of the room opened. Lauren and Natasha appeared together from behind the doors, walking side by side with calm steps, as if all the attention slowly turning toward them was nothing they needed to worry about. . Natasha’s hand was gently wrapped around Lauren’s arm, while Lauren simply let her, occasionally lowering her head to look at the woman beside her. They had both changed into their reception outfits that night.

—> The Continuation - Part 7 . Arthur continued without losing the smile on his face. . “Back then, I used to ask.” He turned toward his daughter. . “Aren’t you tired of working all the time? Back then, Lauren’s answer was very simple.” . Arthur imitated his daughter’s flat tone. “‘There’s no reason to go home early.’” . Several people immediately laughed. . Natasha turned toward Lauren, who now really didn’t dare to lift her head. . Arthur looked at Natasha again. . “Luckily… now that reason is standing right beside her.” . His voice became much softer. . The room filled with another round of gentle applause. . Lauren closed her eyes for a moment. . “Dad…” . Arthur only smiled. . “Starting today, we’re entrusting Lauren to Natasha.” He paused for a moment. “Not because Lauren can’t take care of herself. But because everyone still needs someone who can remind them when to stop working, when to rest, and when to enjoy life.” . Natasha slowly nodded. . “I promise I’ll take care of Lauren.” Her answer was simple. . But it was enough to make Arthur let out a relieved breath. . “Thank you.” . After Arthur returned to his seat, it was Adisson’s turn to stand. . He adjusted his suit for a moment before walking to the front. . “Actually…” He looked at Arthur with a smile. . “Half of the speech I prepared was already used by Mr. Arthur, so now I don’t know what to say.” He joked, making the whole ballroom laugh. . “So I’ll just change it.” . Adisson turned toward Lauren. . “Lauren.” . Lauren raised her head. . “I only have two requests.” . Lauren slowly nodded. . “First, never hurt her through your words or your actions. If one day you no longer love her, bring her back to us in the same condition as when I handed her over to you. And second, don’t make Natasha wait too often.” . Lauren looked slightly confused. . Adisson continued with a calm expression. . “Because…” He glanced at his daughter before continuing, “Every time you take her out, Natasha always comes home and tells me about it.” . Alexandra immediately held back a laugh. . “‘Papa… Lauren is working late again.’” Adisson imitated Natasha’s whining voice. . Natasha immediately covered her face.

—> The Continuation - Part 13 (Last) . “Why go straight to sleep? Don’t you want to have our wedding night first?” Natasha teased her wife even more, making Lauren’s cheeks turn as red as a tomato. . Lauren fell silent for a moment, lowering her head to hide the blush on her face. “Baby, enough. You really love making me embarrassed, don’t you?” . Natasha laughed even louder at her reaction. . Then, without warning, Natasha tightly grabbed Lauren’s hand and pulled her toward the elevator to their room on the top floor of the hotel. . ——— . That night finally came to an end. . The ballroom that had been filled with laughter since the afternoon slowly became quiet. The flowers were still beautifully arranged on the tables, the candles were slowly going out one by one, and the small lights above the dance floor still gave off a soft glow that illuminated the two women standing side by side for the last time before leaving the place. . Lauren and Natasha were now in their room. And sure enough, they immediately did what newlyweds were supposed to do on their first night together. . ——— . Starting tonight and from this day forward, there would be no more secrets. . No more reasons to pretend that their relationship was something they had to hide from the world. . Tonight, they were no longer two people keeping a love they had to hide in silence. . They were two people who had chosen each other in front of their families, in front of the people they loved, and finally, in front of the world. . Because after all the secrets they had kept for so long, there was finally one thing they no longer had to hide. . They were each other’s home. . End

—> The Continuation - Part 12 . After the first dance ended, the reception became lively again. The music changed to something more cheerful, the guests began enjoying the food that had been prepared, and several family members took turns giving toasts to the newlyweds. . There was laughter. . There were old stories. . There were a few secrets from the past that were deliberately brought up just to embarrass Lauren and Natasha in front of everyone. . Yet among all the chaos, the two of them always found a way to return to each other’s side. . When Natasha was talking to some of her family members, Lauren stood not far from her, watching her with a small smile. . When Lauren was surrounded by friends who wanted to talk to her, Natasha would occasionally come over with a glass of water just to make sure Lauren wasn’t too busy to remember to drink. . Little things like that continued throughout the night. . Time passed without them realizing it. . One by one, the guests began saying their goodbyes. . The music that had filled the ballroom was slowly turned down, while the staff began clearing some of the empty tables. The lights around the dance floor were still on, but the atmosphere that had once been lively was becoming quieter. . Lauren and Natasha were still standing in the middle of the ballroom. . They had both loosened up a little from the formalities of the night. . Natasha was holding her heels in one hand because her feet had started to hurt from wearing them for so long. . Lauren noticed and let out a small laugh. . “Giving up already, baby?” . “I’ve been wearing them for hours. My feet are starting to hurt.” . “Do you want to sit down?” She asked with concern. . “In a little while.” . “Here, let me carry them.” Lauren took the heels from Natasha’s hand. . Natasha looked at her with a smile. . “Oh my God, my wife is so romantic.” . Lauren scoffed. “Was I not romantic before?” . “You were romantic before, but secretly.” Natasha teased. . “Yeah, because we were dating in secret. Okay, enough about that. We should just go to our room so we can get some rest.”

—> The Continuation - Part 5 . The priest then turned to Natasha. . “Natasha Chloe Ar.Taecha, do you willingly accept Lauren Xaviera Schuett as your life partner, to love her, honor her, protect her, and remain by her side through joy and sorrow, in sickness and in health, from this day forward and for the rest of your life?” . Natasha slowly nodded. . “I do.” . The priest smiled before continuing their blessing. . “May you always remember that marriage is not about finding someone perfect, but about finding someone you will still choose even after you have learned all of each other’s flaws. Let your home be a place to return to, not a place to judge one another. And when one of you loses your way someday, may the other’s hand always be the first place you return to.” . Natasha lowered her head for a moment. . Lauren rubbed her thumb gently over the back of Natasha’s hand. . After the blessing was complete, the priest gave them the chance to share the personal vows they had prepared. . Lauren was the first to speak. . She looked at Natasha without ever looking away. . “I can’t promise that our life will always be easy,” Lauren said slowly. “I also can’t promise that I’ll always know what to do when everything feels heavy. But I can promise that as long as you still want me by your side, I will always choose to stay. I’ll listen to you, hold your hand when you’re scared, and remind you that you never have to face everything alone.” . Lauren paused for a moment. . Her smile slowly appeared when she saw Natasha’s eyes beginning to fill with tears. . “I may not be the best at saying what I feel. Sometimes I’m too busy, too stubborn, or too used to handling everything on my own that I forget I don’t have to do it alone anymore. So if one day I forget again, please remind me that I’ve promised to come home to you.” . Natasha took a deep breath. . Then it was her turn. . “I don’t need a perfect life from you. I only need a real life, a place where we can be ourselves without having to hide anything. I want to come home to you after a long day, laugh with you over little things, argue about stupid things, and still choose to sit beside you when everything is over.”

—> The Continuation - Part 1 . Natasha then glanced at the suit hanging behind the door. “I still can’t believe tomorrow I’m going to see you wearing that.” . Lauren followed her gaze. “You haven’t even seen it.” . “But I’ve seen its shadow.” . “That doesn’t mean you know what the final look will be like.” . Her answer made Natasha turn back toward her. . Natasha smiled softly. “Whatever it looks like, I know I’ll still be looking at the same woman. The woman who makes me fall in love with her over and over again, every single second.” . Lauren tried to hold back her smile, but failed. “You always talk like that when you want to make me unable to answer.” . “Did it work?” . “A little.” . Natasha laughed softly. “Then tomorrow I’ll try doing it more often.” . Lauren shifted a little closer. “Don’t be too confident. Tomorrow I’ll also have plenty of chances to make you nervous.” . “I’ve been nervous for the past two months.” . “Really?” . “Yes.” Natasha took a slow breath. “I was nervous when we chose the venue. I was nervous when we chose the rings. I was nervous when your family started talking about every detail of the event as if it had already happened. Even earlier, when the announcement was posted, my hands were shaking.” . Lauren looked at Natasha’s fingers. . Without saying anything, she reached for her hand and held it tightly. . “I was nervous too.” . Natasha smiled. “You didn’t look nervous.” . “I’m good at hiding it.” . Lauren gently rubbed the back of Natasha’s hand with her thumb. “I think the strangest part of all this is that we’ve been through so much, and somehow we’ve finally made it here.” . “I think about that a lot too.” . “Back then, I never imagined I’d get married.” . “And now?” Lauren looked into the eyes of the woman beside her. . “Now I can’t imagine marrying anyone but you.” . Natasha fell silent. . Her eyes slowly turned red, but she smiled as if trying to hold back something too big to let out that night. . Lauren gently touched her cheek. . “Don’t cry.” . “I’m not crying yet.” . “You’re about to.” . “Because you talk like that.” “I’m sorry.” . “Don’t apologize.” Natasha squeezed Lauren’s hand tighter. “I like hearing it.”

—> The Continuation - Part 6 . Her voice trembled for a moment, but she continued. . “And if someday we look back on this day, I want us to be able to say that the best decision we ever made was choosing each other. I want to be the person you look for when you’re happy, when you’re scared, when you’re tired, even when you just want to sit quietly and do nothing. As long as you’re still willing to hold my hand, I’ll always be here.” . Several guests began wiping away their tears. . Lauren herself smiled with tears starting to fill her eyes. . The priest then invited them to exchange rings. . Lauren took Natasha’s ring first. . Her hand trembled slightly as she slipped the ring onto Natasha’s finger. . Natasha then did the same. . Once both rings were in place, the priest looked at them with a warm smile. . “With the vows you have made, with the love you have chosen, and in the presence of God, your families, and the people you love, from this day forward, you are officially wives.” . Applause immediately filled the entire room. . But before they could move, the priest was still smiling at them. . “You may now share your first kiss as a married couple.” . Lauren let out a small laugh. . Natasha laughed too, lowering her head shyly. . “Now?” she whispered. . Lauren leaned closer. . “Now.” . Lauren then kissed Natasha gently. . It wasn’t long, but it was enough to fill the entire room with applause and happy cheers from their families and loved ones. . When they faced each other again, Natasha laughed softly because her tears fell first. . Lauren raised her hand and wiped her cheek. . “Now you’re really my wife.” . Natasha laughed through her tears. . “And you’re really mine.” . After the blessing was over, the host invited both families to give a short speech for the newly married couple. . Arthur stood first. He walked to the front and stood calmly. . His gaze stopped on Lauren for a moment before shifting to Natasha. . “I never thought…” His smile slowly grew. “The child who used to always say work was number one would eventually stand here because someone managed to change her mind.” . Lauren immediately lowered her head.

—> The Continuation - Part 10 . Natasha smiled. . “You’re perfect because you almost made me forget how to breathe when I first saw you wearing that.” . Lauren’s smile slowly grew. . Her hand moved down, touching Natasha’s hand that was still holding her arm. . “Then,” she whispered, “don’t go far from me tonight.” . Natasha smiled even wider. “Where would I even go?” . They continued walking into the ballroom, still side by side, with Natasha’s hand never leaving Lauren’s arm. . ——— . The atmosphere at the reception that night was completely different from the quieter blessing ceremony a few hours earlier. The sky outside was already dark, while the entire ballroom was lit by warm lights reflecting off the round tables decorated with white flowers and champagne-colored details. Small candles glowed along the tables, making the room feel intimate even though it was filled with many people. . In the center of the ballroom was a dance floor that had been intentionally left empty. . Above it, strings of small lights hung from the ceiling like a cluster of stars. . After all the guests had taken their seats, the host stood on stage. . “Now,” he said with a wide smile, “we’re going to one of the most awaited moments tonight.” . Several guests immediately cheered. . “The first dance for our newlyweds.” . Lauren turned toward Natasha. . Natasha was already smiling. . “I’m a little nervous.” . Lauren leaned closer and whispered something in her ear. “It’s okay if you mess up a step. I’ll mess up with you.” . Natasha laughed. . “That isn’t reassuring.” . “At least you won’t be alone.” . Lauren then held out her hand. . Natasha looked at it for a few seconds before finally placing her hand in hers. . They walked to the center of the dance floor. . The music began to play. . The soft sound of the piano filled the ballroom, followed by music that slowly formed into a quiet love song. Lauren placed one hand on Natasha’s waist, while their other hands remained intertwined. . Natasha placed her hand on Lauren’s shoulder. . They began to move slowly. . No rush. . No exaggerated movements.

—> The Continuation - Part 9 . Lauren wore a midnight blue suit that almost looked black under the ballroom lights, paired with a clean white shirt with the top few buttons left undone. Her tailored trousers fell perfectly along her legs, while a pair of black patent leather Oxford shoes added a subtle shine with every step. A silver watch wrapped around her wrist, completing her simple yet luxurious look. . Beside her, Natasha looked stunning in a long champagne-colored dress with a silvery shimmer whenever the light hit it. The fabric fell softly all the way to the floor, while the top was decorated with delicate crystal details that made the dress sparkle without looking too much. The cut was simple, but that was exactly what made Natasha look even more elegant. . The champagne color of her dress looked so beautiful beside Lauren’s midnight blue. As if the two of them had been made to walk side by side that night. . Several guests who had still been talking began to quiet down. Some smiled, some clapped softly, while others simply watched the couple as they walked farther into the ballroom. . Natasha noticed the attention directed toward them and unconsciously tightened her hold on Lauren’s arm. . Lauren turned toward her. . “What’s wrong?” . “Everyone is looking at us.” . Lauren smiled softly. . “Let them.” . Natasha smiled too before looking ahead again. . But after a few steps, Lauren stopped paying attention to the guests. Her gaze fell back on Natasha. . She looked so different that night. . So beautiful that Lauren completely forgot they were standing in the middle of a ballroom filled with dozens of pairs of eyes. . Natasha finally noticed her gaze and turned toward her. . “Don’t look at me like that.” . Lauren didn’t answer right away. . “I’m trying to find a way to explain why you look even more beautiful than I imagined.” . Natasha laughed softly, slightly lowering her face. . “You’ve already told me I’m beautiful so many times.” . “Because you’re even more beautiful than usual.” . Natasha then lifted her face and looked Lauren up and down. . “If I’m beautiful, you’re perfect.” . Lauren raised an eyebrow. “Why perfect?” She asked, confused.

—> The Continuation - Part 11 . Just two people drawing closer in the middle of a room full of people, yet somehow it felt as if they were alone. . Natasha looked at Lauren. . “Are you still nervous?” . “Not anymore.” . “Why?” . Lauren smiled. . “Because now I’m holding you.” . Natasha fell silent for a moment. . “Do you realize that you’ve become much bolder since we got married?” . “I’m just saying what I’ve been thinking all this time.” . “Then I have to be careful.” . “Why?” . “I’m afraid I’ll fall in love with you all over again.” . Lauren moved a little closer. . “That’s a good thing, isn’t it?” . Natasha laughed softly before resting her head on Lauren’s shoulder for a moment. . They continued moving with the rhythm. . Every now and then, Lauren slowly spun Natasha around, making the end of her dress move with the small turn. When Natasha returned to her arms, Lauren immediately pulled her closer. . Their eyes met again. . There was something different about the way they looked at each other that night. . There was no longer any fear about the future. . There were no more secrets they had to keep. . There were no more questions about whether they would make it this far. . They had made it. . And they were standing there with matching rings on their fingers. . Natasha smiled softly. . “I like tonight.” . Lauren gently rubbed her back. . “Me too.” . “It feels strange.” . “Why?” . “All this time, we’ve always had to be careful. We had to pay attention to who was watching, who knew, what we could post, what we couldn’t say.” Natasha looked around the ballroom. “Now everyone knows.” . Lauren smiled. . “Finally, we don’t have to pretend we don’t know each other in front of the public anymore.” . Natasha stared at her for a long moment before laughing. . The music slowly reached its final part. . Lauren and Natasha stopped right when the song ended. . Applause immediately filled the ballroom. . Some family members even stood up and cheered, making Natasha laugh shyly and hide her face against Lauren’s shoulder. . Lauren simply laughed while hugging her.
