I agree. I buy HIGH END Fashion and I simply LOVE my things. I own. Loro Piano and Brunellp cucinelli and Jil Sander cashmere for 15 Years and I do my very best to keep it alive just because I love my stuff. I could buy a new, but why should I?

There is a special joy in sitting down to carefully repair a garment you treasure. I can't explain it, but it's so meaningful. I just repaired my old high-quality down jacket and two vests, using down "cannibalized" from a $10 thrifted piece for this purpose. And I'm about to learn how to repair knits, for my 1930s Cowichan sweater, a handed-down masterpiece. Such joy!
