As a psych student, that was Horrible advice from that therapist. Not only is she obligated as a therapist to immediately do a risk assessment, and depending on the state in which she is working, she may of had to report Morty's ideation to his parents, but she provided horrible care. Morty is like. 14. He needed advice on redirection, coping skills, and communication with Rick. On top of that, she's aware that Rick's adventures are putting Morty at risk of harm, death, or trauma. She needs to call CPS and get them involved, because not only has Morty reported that he feels unsafe and is being forced into an unsafe situation, but he has reported that its causing him mental harm.
