@willrenwick_: Forget Gore-tex… Here are 3 alternative fabrics every outdoorsy person should know about: 1️⃣ Columbia OutDry Extreme 2️⃣ Paramo Nikwax Analogy 3️⃣ Pertex Shield Revolve Ok, Gore-Tex still does have its place, but these options prove it’s no longer the only benchmark. Any others I should mention in my next video?👇 Comment down below. #WaterproofJacket #Hillwalking #TrailRunning #OutdoorGear #UKHills
Paramo is the only thing I will wear now. I get too sweaty in gore tex.

Waxed cotton. Keep slathering wax on my 15-year-old Barbour and not only is it dry as a bone, it’s aching with character.

I have for a few years been a great advocate for North Face’s Futurelight membrane it’s fantastic, mostly found on their summit series stuff. Obviously some turn their nose up at the brand because of their foray into fashion but a lot of their products are quality.

I have a question for you. I need help with choosing the best jacket for our needs? We work in an outdoor ELC, outside at all times in Argyll and Bute, Scotland. Some of us work 8 hours a day, 5 days a week and we only have 2 work jackets each so they need to be properly waterproof but breathable. We work with small children so they need to be flexible and not hinder us bending and moving in any way. Budget is think is usually around the £200 or under mark per jacket.
What jackets do you suggest.

Interested in buying a waterproof jacket for an upcoming 12 day visit to south west Ireland and saw this, sadly instead of the 3 options you’ve given, I’ve now read the comments and I’ve got 10 to choose from, so confused now 🤔🤔🤔
