I’m neurodivergent, I don’t bully my kids. Neurodivergence and high energy is not an excuse to bully anyone, especially your kids. My 2 children are neurodivergent and very high energy, they don’t bully because even at 6 years and 2 years they comprehend and understand that you shouldn’t be mean. Love how you handled everything, explained everything and the work you did but mom is in the wrong.

It just seemed like the mom was getting joy at the thought of her daughter possibly having to cut all her hair off and gave off this weird vibe overall and her attitude about it just rubbed a lot of people wrong.

I 100% agree with all of that. The only thing that stood out to me is the daughter looked like she was on the verge of tears after the mom announced that grandma wanted her hair back too. The disappointment was so visible 🥺

She wasn’t being a bully at all. She’s just a mom that likes to chat and super bubbly. Her daughter is just a teen that’s shy around her parents or seems shy or nervous. Her asking about the pixie cut, wasn’t because she was jealous, she was excited for her kid to possibly try something new. Everyone is so excited to put down the mom because of their own traumas as if you wouldn’t correct her if you felt like she was being mean.

I saw the video of someone talking about how there's ZERO nuance on the internet anymore and the treatment of mom in the comments reminds me of that. there's NO nuance. everyone's assuming what the daughter was thinking or what the mom was trying to do based on how it made the commenter feel.

My mom was a lot like her she liked to show off when others was around she always acted different to point I remember telling her “ why are you acting different? Stop doing that” it’s just part of how she was she loved attention, and at same time maybe nervous part of it made her just act soooo different and sadly a lot of that was making fun of me even if she didn’t realize it was. She put spotlight on me and it would embarrass me..

Your mom :
I will always leave room for people and their personalities. Especially because when I get excited I can get, for a lack of a better way of saying it, “aggressive” when joking and stuff. But at the same time, I grew up with an abusive mom. The constant comments toward her daughter, and the texting about her hair kinda send a red flag. But I do like she removed herself eventually, and she didn’t seem evil. Just needs some correction!

I thought mom had a very bubbly personality and (it seemed at least to me) that her and her daughter have a very healthy relationship. Sucks people can’t just watch a video you did great by the way! Splat is awful, as a stylist, mom of a teen who did in fact use splat despite having me as a mom 🙃.
