@mamaot_shannon: Teaching my 3-year-old to clean the toilet 🧼🧽 No, he’s not doing the whole bathroom… but he absolutely can be part of keeping our home clean. Age-appropriate chores are about so much more than getting help around the house. They build independence, confidence, responsibility, and the feeling that you’re an important part of the family team. For a 3-year-old, make it manageable: ✨ Give them ONE simple job at a time ✨ Use child-sized/easy-to-hold cleaning tools ✨ Choose a safe, non-toxic cleaner—or let them use a damp cloth with your help ✨ Break the task into simple steps and demonstrate first ✨ Expect it to take longer (and not be perfect!) ✨ Do it alongside them instead of correcting every little detail The goal isn’t a spotless toilet. The goal is teaching them, “I’m capable. I can contribute. I have responsibilities in our family.” ❤️ And yes… sometimes letting them “help” creates MORE work for you. But the independence they’re building is worth it. 🙌 #ToddlerChores #ToddlerIndependence #OccupationalTherapy #ParentingTips #ToddlerActivities
