I was tested in kindergarten in the 90s, my birth father is dyslexic I didn’t meet him till I was 17, so in kindergarten I was told I didn’t have it and put in special English help classes for the next two years. I never stopped struggling with my bs and ds and other letters but those are the worst. I love reading romance and want to write it and tried since I was fifteen I can not grasp how to spell or pronounce words. I try so hard and it often gets me ridiculed still I’m 32. I came across a different video of yours the other day explicating different symptoms of dyslexia and I now know I need tog o seek out the confirmation diagnoses but I’m positive I am. And I’m sad I was lost in a system, that I over compensated and or masked to get by and have so much trauma related to this struggle and truly would love to be an author but can’t get anyone to help me edit. I have stories and stories finished, typed. It’s sad. But thank you for these videos truly.

I was always told collage wasn’t an option for me because of my dyslexia. For 20 years I believed that. Then speech to text and read aloud became user-friendly. At 40 years old I stared collage on May 10 2025 I graduated.

All that technology helps and can benefit you, but you have to sacrifice your time to not allowing the technology to do the work. That can also be a blessing, because you become an expert in the subject matter of what ever you work on. But 21 years of marriage, and my wife still does not understand how my brain works. Great job Kathy!

I always share this to my dyslexic friends. Having a life partner that will support you in does things that are difficult for us will make a huge difference in our lives. And yes not everyone has that gift! 💜

I used an editor to proof read my dissertation. It helped me clean up my consistent mistakes that are invisible to me. Also the patience and support of my husband I was able to achieve my doctorate. I always said he deserved a degree too . I was

That’s amazing. I didn’t have that support. I’m a Truck Driver now it’s 65. I wish I had that support. I would’ve went down a different path. It’s too late for me.

I am a special educator and I am very proud of what I’ve been able to accomplish despite my struggles with dyslexia. I love getting to help my students with the same struggles and see them succeed. Funny story: another educator asked if I could read when I shared I have dyslexia. 🤣
