عاش المسنّ الفرنسي "جان" عقوده التسعة في هدوءٍ تام بإحدى الضواحي الهادئة، بعد أن فارقته زوجته وانشغل عنه الأبناء في زحام الحياة. كانت أيامه تسير على وتيرة واحدة يغلب عليها الجفاء والوحدة، حتى انتقلت عائلة مسلمة لسكن البيت المجاور له. لمسات إنسانية أذابت الجليد لم تكن بداية التأثر عبر محاضرة أو كتاب، بل من خلال مواقف يومية بسيطة عكست روح التكافل وحسن الجوار: * السؤال المباشر والاهتمام: كان الجيران يحرصون دائماً على الاطمئنان على صحته كل صباح، خاصة في الأيام التي يقل فيها خروجه. * كرم المشاركة: لم تخلُ مائدتهم من إرسال وجبات دافئة له في أيام الشتاء الباردة، مع ابتسامة صادقة. * المساعدة العفوية: كان يجد أبناء الجار يسارعون لحمل أغراضه الثقيلة وتنظيف حديقته دون أن يطلب منهم ذلك. نقطة التحول واليقين مع مرور الوقت، شعر "جان" بدفءٍ إنساني لم يعهده منذ سنوات طويلة. وحين سأل جاره يوماً عن السر وراء هذه المعاملة والاهتمام المستمر، أجابه الجار بابتسامة: "رسولنا يوصينا بالجار دائماً، والرحمة هي أصل معاملتنا". هذه الكلمات البسيطة فتحت أمامه باباً للبحث والتدبر، ليجد أن المحبة وحسن الخُلُق هما ركيزتان أساسيتان في هذا الدين. وفي عامه الخامس والتسعين، نطق "جان" الشهادتين في لحظة ملؤها الطمأنينة، مؤكداً أن "المعاملة الحسنة أبلغُ أثراً من آلاف المجلدات". تذكرنا هذه القصة بأن السلوك الطيب والأخلاق الفاضلة هي أقصر الطرق إلى قلوب البشر مهما اختلفت أعمارهم وثقافاتهم.
