@thetrishawolfe: I’ve been thinking a lot about the parts of us that long and yearn for an experience that will take away the pain of what we felt in the past. We might look for it in partners, in our bank account balance, in our success, in our body, or even look for connection to people and things that can’t give it to us and can even hurt us. This makes sense of course we are seeking ways to try to manage our feelings of grief of terror of rage of loneliness. but as we work with these deeply held learnings that are landing the past onto the present we can start to find a little more space and agency. But that doesn’t mean that things that happen in the present will never hurt or wound dust. But it means we can experience what’s happening in the present and be with it and not lose connection to ourselves.
