@tomtheweatherwizard: 💧 A very wet week is ahead for parts of the East. The latest 7-day precipitation forecast from the NWS Weather Prediction Center shows some of the highest rainfall totals along the Mid-Atlantic, especially portions of Virginia, Maryland, Delaware and the coastal Carolinas, where 2–4”+ is possible in the wetter pockets. A broad swath of 1–2”+ extends through parts of the Southeast, Ohio/Tennessee Valleys and Northeast, while another heavier corridor develops over portions of the central Plains. 🔥 Meanwhile, check out Texas: much of the state is forecast to remain remarkably dry, surrounded by wetter conditions to the north, east and west. It’s a classic “ring of fire” type setup, where thunderstorms tend to ride around the outer edge of a hot, dry ridge while areas underneath it miss much of the rain.
