@asamouhdaniel: I am genuinely wondering why I am unable to emphatically reject the Deputy Attorney General’s claim that he is receiving death threats every day, particularly since the threats are reportedly intensifying. What puzzles me even more is why the alleged perpetrators have not been identified and arrested. This is a government that has demonstrated its ability to track down and arrest TikTokers and political opponents over statements deemed critical of the Mahama administration, including, by tracing their IP addresses. So, if the Deputy AG, Justice Sai, is indeed receiving credible and persistent death threats, why has the same sophisticated investigative machinery not been deployed to identify, trace and arrest those making these threats? The question is simple: if the government can use IP addresses and other digital tools to track down citizens over their political commentary, why can’t the same methods be used to apprehend people who are allegedly issuing serious threats against a senior government official? I am not saying the Deputy AG should not be protected. Death threats are serious matters and must never be trivialised. But extraordinary claims require credible evidence and appropriate action. If these threats are real and traceable, then the perpetrators should be identified and dealt with according to law. Otherwise, one cannot help but wonder whether this is merely another claim being made without the evidence or action one would reasonably expect to accompany it.
