I understand the knee implants last about 15-20 years and hence, the procedure is not recommended for the middle aged.

I was awake during surgery, I'm in Ontario Canada. I had an epidural only. I did have a relaxant, I asked my surgeon if he was almost done, he said yes wanna see. He lifted up my leg and showed me my stitches. They make you stand up once in recovery and take a dozen steps. It was good. I never experienced the pain some people talk about and the pain I did have was controlled by extra strength Tylenol. I had a month of PT twice a week. Best decision I made. So nice to be in no pain. I was 69. My friend had his second knee done 10 months ago. He's 83.

You could include the cutting of the infra-patella nerve which causes numbness on the outside of your knee.

im waiting to for a full replacement the pain go through before the opp is so painful popping pills everyday is not good but you have to ease the pain.
