Boob jobs weren't as common so you saw a lot of naturals and when someone did have a boob job they were done vastly different than today. The pale nipples were a lot of the time make-up too.

According to the lighting guys theu switched from incandescent bulbs to LEDs which caused a huge change in lighting and therefore texture and shadow. In my opinion I think 80s films are much better looking than today's, they feel natural and real and were so sloppy and human. Everything today is too correct, to fine tuned so not lifelike because they focus too much on fine details.

Plastic surgery wasn't that common until much later in the 90s. That's why Pamela Anderson was such a big deal, because she was probably the first mainstream lady famous for fake boobs. Natural bodies were more in vogue. Also the difference between physical film movies vs digital is pretty significant.

there's a bunch of reasons all together. digital alteration now can change nipple and areola for actor comfortability in not exactly having their bits on the camera, or use someone else's chest entirely. there's also practical effects and covers so that the actor doesn't have to actually be topless for a "topless" scene again for actor safety and comfortability. people's diets have changed which can change shape people's workout habits can also change muscle amount which shifts shape. and last but not least there's ease of access to surgery. could be any or multiple of those and more.
