Fundie beauty standards are very different, they prefer women that look more “homely” from my understanding. As well as that, fundie men are not going to date for long periods of time. They are going through courtships, and the pool of girls they are dating is very small, as they are other parent guided courtships. So, limited options and a difference in family culture.

in my experience growing up in churches, when Christian men date down its either the same as the guy who wants to marry early, or it's because he's from a church that's HEAVY on lust being a sin and purposely chose a wife he isn't attracted to so he would never be tempted
