You Would Never Guess I Have Social Anxiety, But I Do... Oftentimes, I get comments that because I film ASMR in public, I must be super confident. Thank you, but the truth is, I feel anxious Every. Single. Time. Shoutout to my fellow homebodies who know how hard it is to leave the house, let alone film yourself in front of strangers! I’ve been making ASMR for years, and the nerves never fully go away. Over time, I’ve learned to do it a little scared and unprepared, because I remind myself that growth comes from pushing past the fear and embracing the imperfect process. While filming this particular ASMR video for YouTube, something happened that’s never happened to me before: A stranger stopped me—not to ask what I was doing (yes, thar happens too), but to ask for advice on something they were struggling to navigate. My introvert brain immediately panicked. Fight or flight? Neither. Just stood there awkwardly while camera tapping and sweating. But after processing the situation and realizing this person really needed to talk, I put my camera down. We ended up having a 30-minute conversation. I won’t share what we talked about, but what stuck with me was how open and vulnerable they were. And how nerve wracking it must have been to ask a complete stranger for life advice. It reminded me that we all carry burdens things no one else sees. We walk past people every day with no idea what they’re going through. Sometimes, just putting yourself out there—whether it’s creating (I was literally in the middle of filming), talking to a stranger, or asking for help—is the hardest part. But those moments of connection, even the unexpected ones, can really stay with you. This is the power of the ripple effect. This all unfolded simply because I allowed myself to create, and in doing so, it sparked unexpected moments of connection, reminding me that we’re all more alike than we often realize. I just wanted to take a moment and share that. Have a great say! #asmr #publicasmr #asmrnails #memoirsasmr #LifeAdvice #butterflyeffect #asmrtriggers #cameratappingasmr #tapping #asmrtiktoks #spreadkindness #fyp
