@jacknaunau: I didn’t get the perfect last day in Atlanta. So I went back to a day that, looking at it now, feels pretty close. Running around the city. Being active. My best friends. No real agenda, just experiencing Atlanta. When I first moved here, I had no idea how much this city would change my life. Atlanta gave me community. It gave me @runeasyatl and Thursday mornings at 6AM that made this massive city start to feel small. It gave me friendships that pushed me to get up earlier, run farther, work harder and become a better man. It was here that I took some of the biggest chances on myself. I came here working in finance, building a life that looked completely different from the one I’m living now. Somewhere along the way, the early mornings, runs on the BeltLine, workouts, coffee shops, conversations, church, random adventures and ordinary days became the backdrop to a completely new chapter of my life. And that’s what I think I’ll miss most. Not one restaurant. Not one neighborhood. Not one “perfect” final day. Just the life I got to live here and the people I got to live it with. It’s funny how badly we want a perfect ending to a chapter when most of the things that made it special happened on days we didn’t realize were special yet. Atlanta, you gave me a lot more than a place to live. You gave me a community, a new direction, and a version of myself I hadn’t met yet. Thank you, ATL. I’ll always be grateful that a piece of my story happened here. ❤️
