Look at Zimbabwe.Shortly after the sanctions were announced they struggled,but ordinary Zimbabweans had gotten the most basic &reliable asset:land.In about 4 years they had doubled their food prouction. Now it's up about 6,7 times.Their exports actually increased in about 4.5 years.They improved greatly on their means of production.The inflation that had accrued went done quickly as well.By many measures they won.Without corruption& bad governance they would be way further ahead too.
