I wouldn't travel specifically for it, but it's such an important part of Russian history and industrialization that it would be fire to at least see a part of the track. History majors are masochists though 🤷🏻♀️

It's been my dream for the longest time. I really want to see the landscape in Siberia, but not necessarily stay there, so sitting in a train and looking outside sounds perfect. I can also combine the trip with sightseeing in Peterburg and then hoping onto transmongolian railway and going all the way to Beijing. Too bad I probably won't be able to do it now 🥲🥲

I'm czech so mine reason is purely historical interest, as the czechoslovak legion, the army that won the independence of my country, evacuated russia via the transsiberian railway in a way that reminds me of an ancient Greek legend. But I won't be going anytime soon cause of the war and the current regime

The first time I went to NYC I reaaaaally wanted to experience the subway. It’s a cultural experience. The trans Siberian train is also a very authentic experience. Like yes you can go to the red square, but you can also be curious about how people travel in rural Russia. Some people want to see the world from the local lens. It teaches you a lot about people and culture. Also why NOT visit Russia now? If you go there as a tourist you’re there to interact with locals and the culture, you’re not there to go to the parliament. We can apply this logic to the US… just because you don’t agree with what’s going on in the Middle East, doesn’t mean that you’re gonna boycott an entire country… the world will always be in chaos and some people just want to see the world regardless of what’s going on
