Stop guessing and read this ultimate guide to achieving that flawless, scalloped light pattern on your walls 👇 🌟 Step 1: Spotlight vs. Downlight Downlight (Floodlight): Provides general, diffused, and wide-spread ambient light. Ideal for primary illumination in spaces like kitchens and bathrooms. Spotlight (Accent Light): Highly concentrated beam with various angles (15°/24°/38°/60°). 15°: Perfect for precise, vertical accent lighting on small decorative pieces. 24°: Best for focused light over coffee tables or kitchen islands. 38°: The absolute standard for wall-washing. It gives a beautiful, soft scallop effect without harsh hot spots. 60°: Use this only for general room lighting if your floor tiles are matte. If you have highly reflective tiles, avoid wide-beam spotlights to prevent messy wave patterns on the ceiling. For glossy floors, use frosted downlights for general light instead. 🌟 Step 2: Distance from the Wall The sweet spot depends on the fixture. However, for a soft wall-washing effect using a 38° beam, we recommend keeping it 15cm - 25cm away from the wall.
