6th generation Floridian living in St. Augustine. The tourism is so heavy that if I didn’t have a Jeep I wouldn’t be able to go to the beach because of parking. I live 12 minutes away. The inlet is almost impossible. I grew up swimming in springs, and try to go as often as possible. I’ve driven hours and waited in lines only to be turned away because the parks have met their capacity. Some springs now require reservations. Also, if I want to camp in the state park 10 minutes from my house I have to reserve a site a year in advance. Everyday I see dead deer on the side of the roads that are being being paved over wooded areas. We love it here, but to say it isn’t over populated would be a joke.

People say it’s hot but beautiful cool breezes every night and it doesn’t get hit till like noon, oh wait, that’s other states that do that! Florida is a humid blast furnace from May till October
