Minjeong and Jimin were doing well, dates every Saturday, kisses before bedtime and in the morning, warm and comfortable conversations that lasted hours. But ever since Jeno— Jimin's greatest love— came into the picture, everything changed. Every conversation turned cold, harsh and short. Jimin always wanted to go out to hang out with him, she talked less and less with Minjeong. And that stung hard. Every word that came out of Jimin's mouth cracked Minjeong's heart bit by bit. Those words felt like a hard blow against her. “Not now, Minjeong.” “Go by yourself.” “Can't you see that I'm busy?” “Gosh, why can't you be like Jeno?” That phrase still echoed in her mind, haunting her every single minute of her life. Be like Jeno? She can't do that. She couldn't because of one thing. She has cyanotic heart disease. She already had surgery, but she never told anyone. That's her, the girl who never told anyone about herself if they didn't ask. Always kept to herself. Minjeong hid behind oversized hoodies and baggy pants, almost like she was afraid to show her skin to anyone. Jimin stopped noticing long ago. She used to, but ever since he went back, she stopped caring entirely. No more daily check ups, no more taking care of her needs. Just abruptly stopped. “Jimin.. it hurts.” Minjeong mumbled one night, Jimin was beside her— busy texting with Jeno on the phone. “Not right now, Min.” “Jimin.. please. Just hold me..” She reached out. Jimin didn't even glance back at her. Not even a brief second. She was completely occupied by her phone. Minjeong looked up at her girlfriend, her eyes pleasing silently. Hoping she'll look at her, even just for a second for her to make her feel acknowledged. Yet, the latter didn't. She forced herself to turn around, facing away from her and wrapping her arms around herself. Her body was numb, her mind was going crazy, and her purple-ish fingertips shook. Minjeong hasn't been the same, her schedule was completely ruined— she'd forget to drink her meds, sometimes not at all. Her meals came late, she couldn't even move around the house without Jimin's support. Eventually, she fell asleep. During the night, Jimin slipped out and left without saying a word. Not even a quick text. And of course, she hung out with Jeno— spending the night at his place, leaving Minjeong alone in their apartment and who knows what they did. Once Jimin stepped back into their apartment, her movements swaying and her body aching, the sudden cold hit her. It's 8 am, Minjeong should be awake by now. She hasn't noticed anything strange with her girlfriend for the past months. Now she did. The apartment felt too cold. Quiet. This wasn't like her, Minjeong always had music on. Jimin wanted to brush it off but her intuition couldn't let it go. “Minjeong?” She called out, looking in every room in their apartment. Yet, there were no signs of her anywhere. Until she reached the bathroom. Her girlfriend was on the floor, unresponsive and.. pale. Way too pale. The purple skin on her fingertips spread across the rest of the length. “Minjeong, don't play games right now.. i swear—” She tried to pull her up but she was too heavy, falling back onto the cold floor. Jimin stared at her, looking for any signs she was just playing around. She didn't twitch, her chest didn't rise, and she didn't move a single inch. That's when panic started to set within Jimin. “Hey! Wake up!” She dropped to her knees, shaking the girl. She didn't wake up. Jimin carried her up with all of her strength and rushed to her car. Her knuckles turned white from gripping the wheel too hard, she was going past the speed limits but she didn't care. All she cared about was the girl in the backseat who was unresponsive. Jimin carried Minjeong into the hospital, tears streaming down her cheeks as she yelled for help. Once Minjeong was on the stretcher, she waited outside the ER. Her heart is racing, afraid of what the doctors will declare. — dont slime me out pls #fyp #au #winrina
