@andreduqum: What You Need To Do. What if some of what we call “personal choice” isn’t as personal as we think? Dr. Robert Lustig shares that when we’re in pain, we naturally reach for something to make it go away. Sugar, alcohol, scrolling, shopping, gambling — whatever gives us that momentary relief. Different behaviors, but they can all become ways of chasing dopamine. After 45 years working in medicine, Dr. Lustig has come to see our current health crisis as something much bigger than individual choices. Our food, technology, stress, and environment are all shaping our brains and bodies in ways we may not fully recognize. And if we don’t understand what’s driving the problem, how can we expect to change it? In this conversation, you’ll learn: • What “hostage brain” is, and why the thing you reach for to feel better quietly keeps you in pain • The difference between dopamine and serotonin, and why chasing pleasure leaves us lonelier • The 5 changes to our food that matter most, including too much sugar, too little fiber, and not enough omega-3s • A simple 9-word test for whether any food is worth eating, processed or not • The 4 Cs he shared that can help lower dopamine and cortisol and increase serotonin ...and much more. This video is clearly for the neurotypical. I'm not sure his advice applies to the neurodivergent.

I’m always skeptical of frameworks built around catchy acronyms 4 C, 5P... Sometimes, it’s just words starting with the same letter 😂

I stopped connecting on purpose. I stopped contributing aka overhelping others. I meditate, exercise, cope better because I stopped connecting with others, and love to sleep. I cook alone, but share meals.
