It's good for me in the sense that it's better than keeping in contact. Yes it would have been better to not have abusive parents but I don't. The last thing my Dad said to me before I cut him off was "f**k you". I can promise that not speaking to him is so much better for me than putting up with abuse.

Nope they were still a malignant narcissist who tried in every way to hurt me even after I moved. She stocked me and did the flying monkey trashing me to every one…. But that part was not new she had done that from the day I was born.

you can't have a conversation with a narcissistic mother because they don't see anything wrong with their behaviour, they don't remember anything they done or said, they shut you down as soon as you say something they don't like, according to her I had a perfect life. 10 years no contact best thing I ever done. it took years to actually walk away .

Why do they always assume we haven't tried talking and just jumped straight to going no contact? I tried SO many times to tell my mother her behavior was unacceptable, and all I got in return was "Oh well, that's just the way I am, I guess I'm just a bad mom" no apologies, no attempt to stop hurting me. So I did what I had to do to stop being hurt. I do not and will not regret my decision.

The decider for me was having my own children and realising I didn’t want that toxicity in their lives too. Estranged from both my parents… I’m not ok with it at all… it carries its own burdens, but I’m better than the alternative of having them in my life. I managed to break the cycle with my own kids too. But it’s hard. Sending strength to all my other self imposed orphans. 🩷

I cut the relationship with my parents due to extreme all sorts of abuse and I been diagnosed with numerous mental disorders due to the abuse and trauma I am doing ok lol
