i just told my psychiatrist that i was going to be going to a new gym and he asked me some questions about my plans/the classes i was interested in before saying, "i don't usually share anything personally, but i am at that gym 3-5 days during the week, so you will likely see me at some point, but i will not initiate any contact with you as part of the privacy agreement between us. just so you're aware!" and i appreciated it so so much

My dentist found my instagram, and asked me out. I was in the process of a follow up appointment for root canal treatment and I ended up canceling it and had to look for a new specialist to complete the work that he was doing because of how weird that made me feel 😭

I had an amazing therapist in a small town who very clearly disclosed that if we ever saw each other in public, he would not greet me first or acknowledge me, but that if I did, he would say hi back! I trusted him with my life lol

Years later I saw my psychiatrist at a banquet I was working. I stopped going to her when I was 18 due to my insurance ending. At this time I was 21 working at a fine dining restaurant to get by in college. She didn’t say anything to me, when I did she grabbed and hugged me saying, “MARIAH! I WAS HOPING YOU WOULD SAY SOMETHING EVENTUALLY!” She didn’t say anything until I said something to preserve my privacy.
