Feeling sad for Punch with this caption. When do they officially “call it” and stop trying to integrate him like he is out in the wild? His severe anxiety will eventually lead to health issues if it hasn’t already. He’ll eventually annoy the impatient macaques who will be aggressive towards him making it worse for Punch. At this point he needs a controlled smaller environment of macaques who accept him unconditionally 24/7, like they were his real mom, dad, brother, & sister in order for him to regain confidence, feel secure and loved. You can see his friend being caring towards Punch, but they can’t understand why Punch is crying, and frankly neither do we.

That caption is super sad, bc at this point I don't think he's fully and successfully integrated into the troop. Unfortunately, I think the caretakers stayed around longer than they should have and Punch became dependent on them for emotional support. I'm hoping for the best, but this ain't looking good 😕
