Marriage is God ordained it’s a physical manifestation of how Christ loves the church and how men should lay down their life for there wife and vice versa it’s to show believers that life is more than just me me me but it’s about sacrifice and humility for another human

not sure how it is in USS but in Russia in medical emergencies if they are not legally and officially married then the spouses can't be involved. so if your loved one is in coma but you are not legally married you can't see him you can't visit him at the hospital let alone make any decisions on his behalf

Spiritual or religious couples who want to undergo the process of a spiritual union should do that. There is nothing spiritual about our current approach to legal marriage, or it’s dissolution. Legal marriage, and the legal process of divorce are both business transactions amd should be approached with that in mind. Most have no idea how brutal and inhumane the divorce process is. Further, few consider the temptation of “divide by two”, spousal maintenance, and support. These dynamics introduce a perverse incentive structure that creates a financial incentive for one party to break-up a marriage when things get hard and they no longer feel appreciated. Based on the data I’m seeing published by the Census Bureau and the National Bureau of Economic Research - we not only have a moral duty to reexamine our approach to marriage and divorce, we have economic incentives - AT SCALE - which should motive us to do so.

there is no benefit beyond a religious one. you can cover anyone that lives with you for Healthcare. there is power of attorney for having a say so in decision making. you can name anyone a beneficiary. a birth certificate established parentage. you can change your name whenever you want. you can set up trusts for your stuff to go to whomever you want. there is no LEGAL benefit to it anymore.

my boyfriend and I have been together for 4 years and don't plan to get married for at least another 4. this is a genuine joint decision. the ONLY good reason for us to ever officially tie the knot is so that I have more rights to him as we age. so, if something happens and he or I are in the hospital, we have rights to each other. we can make important decisions. other than that, we prefer to not to try fix what isn't broken.

It says in the Bible that "is no good for man to be alone... Etc, etc..." And says too, the man would live his parents and... (you know the rest) but it's not said "get married" at all. 😁

I think if you look at history it has been taught. So we put value into it this and little girls grow up thinking this is the dream. No haters please it’s just my thoughts

Not sure what drove us to marry, either. Maybe our friends' Instagram posts about their weddings? Or maybe because we liked the weddings we were invited to? The social pressure? Like traditions and parents?

Because otherwise they can't take your shit 🤣 and it also solves their constant nagging 🤣 I was happy dating and even living together, but she nagged and nagged about getting engaged, then after we got engaged it was the nagging and nagging about getting married. We're no longer together but to this day she's doing what she can to get us back together but I'm not crazy 🤣
