As someone who only had singles but struggled with production for both, give yourself grace!!! And remember: •Milk takes time to come in. •There’s nothing wrong with supplementing if you need to. •Exclusive pumping IS breastfeeding. •formula feeding isn’t a crime. •a healthy mama is more important than a breastfeeding mama

I'm glad I gave up feeding direct from thr tap and chose to pump and do bottles. Saved my sanity because others could feed the baby and I could also keep track of how much he was getting every day. I was an undersupplier so I had to do some formula supplementing.

Twin momma here!! I’m pumping and formula feeding. My body isn’t making quite enough to feed both girls, but I’m able to give them 2 bottles of breast milk a day! I did strictly formula feed for a long time (a month) while building a small freezer stash! Just be consistent!!!! 🫶🏻

My little guy is 8 weeks and would not latch right away so i exclusively pumped and bottle feed so he was eating and my husband could help. Eventually he learned to latch and it is a nice soother when he needs. The want to try is where i was at. If i could make the milk i wanted to try. I started with the spectra and it was great made the milk but it hurt and was hard to do that and be able to sooth fussy baby. So i switched to eufy s1 wearables and it’s all i use so i can be hands free and move freely. Mom cozy nipple cream is the best. Also boobie milk to the max lactation bars taste great and seemed to really help.

My two cents I had one exclusively breastfed baby (did it for 13 months and he naturally weaned when I got pregnant) so take my advice as a you want. It’s your body if you want to I think there’s not harm in trying but also understand if you combo feed you are still getting all the benefits of breastfeeding but you won’t be pushing yourself too hard. Postpartum is very challenging in the best situations I think that if you combo feed you’d be able to save yourself some of the mental anguish it’s very challenging in the beginning I think it’s worth it to push through but that’s my experience and idk if I could do two babies but it’s been done before. I knew a twin mom who exclusively pumped for 3 full months (the first 3 are the hardest imo) and then she switched to formula but I think anything is possible! Just make sure you’re still taking care of you in the ways you can.🫶🏼

It’s possible! But like others said, give yourself grace if you don’t produce enough. I didn’t produce enough for my singleton so he had breast milk and formula and I was okay with that bc I did my best!

No twin experience, but girl follow your mom gut (with guidance from care providers!) your body can do incredible things. I’ve learned that motherhood is a whole bunch of “well, try it I guess??” Let YOU be the decided, not anyone else💛

I had twin boys and exclusively pumped because I didn’t want two booby obsessed kids fighting over my girls 😂

As a mama to a singleton and then twins, I breastfed/pumped for all 3 until about 7 months... when my supply naturally tanked on me. 🙃 People thought I was crazy...that being said, I didn't care. lol All 3 of my babies had dairy intolerances and my twins also had soy intolerances...so I had to eliminate dairy and soy from my diet. That wasn't fun, but it was doable. I think one of the hardest things for me with feeding the twins was the amount of food I HAD to eat and the amount of water/electrolytes I needed to maintain a supply. If I didn't get enough of either, it was very evident in my supply for the day. I would also suggest learning about triple feeding when you first have them...especially if they come a little early. It definitely helps kick start things. The last thing I will say (and I feel this way about ALL things pregnancy/postpartum/motherhood), give yourself some grace and try to be flexible. While I know that can be easier said than done, if you set expectations and then cannot meet them for whatever the reason (pregnancy and babies are so good at humbling you 😂😂), it can be so upsetting. I personally decided to set some loose goals to shoot for, but knew that whatever decisions we had to make, we would roll with the punches. sending you so much love, mama! you're gonna do great!

Yes! It’s great for them and it is natural. I breastfed till 2 years. There are great lactation consultants at hospitals that will help you so much. If you are going to pump, I highly recommend if you don’t have a dishwasher to get a bottle washer to keep the bottles and pumps clean without insanity. Don’t let others discourage your goals. You got this! Also you get a free pump through insurance. I loved the spectra 2(blue)

Hi there! Congratulations, mama! I’m currently 4 months pp with di di girlies and we have been successfully breastfeeding since about an hour after my C-section! 😅 I do pump when I’m at work or if they decide to sleep long stretches during the night. I was able to successfully bf my singleton for 13 months and she’s now 4! Good luck! You got this! 🥰

Mama Katie :) :
I exclusively breast fed both my girls. My first was 4 weeks early and didn’t want to drink or latch. I squeezed- hand expressed some milk out and my husband fed her the milk through a syringe and his pinky for a few days. It was challenging to get her to latch but she had a tongue and lip tie. She got that lazered and that helped a bit but not completely. I ended up using a nipple shield the entire 19 months of feeding her! I pumped here and there because she couldn’t keep up with the production. For my second, she drank after 20 minutes of being born and did for 2.5 years. She emptied my boobs every time, so I actually didn’t have to pump ever. My advice is to not give up if u want to do it. There are ways to do it & help out there. I had a great lactation consultant that I contacted A LOT!

Breastfeeding is not just important but it is also a great bonding experience. At first it is hard for the soreness you will feel and how your body reacts but it’s so worth it. I also think that you can get through the soreness with using a regular schedule of feeding which may be more difficult with twins but give yourself some grace. If you are extremely sore then pump a bit so you can still maintain the milk flow & babies get what they need but you get a break of the latching.

I BF for over a year but I didn’t have twins haha my biggest piece of advice.. if your babies don’t latch immediately ask about a nip shield it was a game changer when I first started and he didn’t need it the whole time just until we got the hang of it secondly make sure your using the right size when pumping because if you don’t it can one be painful two mess up your supply because you not emptying completely (emptying completely will increase your supply). The more you pump the more your supply will increase. Good luck !!

Currently going on 19months exclusively breastfeeding my boy/girl twins! Also currently 12 weeks pregnant with our 3rd 😅 It’s definitely possible, you can do whatever feels best for your twin mom journey! I personally was “just enough” supplier and really never pumped and have never had a freezer stash. You got this!

Agree with everyone here!!! Fed baby is best!!! But if it’s something you want to try then try it! I have loved breastfeeding more than anything and it has been the most special connection w the girls but I also can attest there are times it was so tough and exhausting (& that was only 1 baby at a time!) so give grace!! 🩷🩵

Totally normal and totally possible! I’m a few weeks behind you with TWINS (said like you of course) going to try my darndest. I exclusively pumped with my first, thankfully had lots of milk so not anticipating any issues this go. It’s tough, but you were literally made for this! 🥰

You can definitely do it!! I tried breastfeeding exclusively with my daughter for weeks! My son’s sugars were low when he was first born and was given formula to help. They both latched fine but I just wanted to make sure they were getting what they needed. Exclusively pumped for a whole year for my babies!! You totally got this! Be patient with yourself and your body. Keep an open mind and block out the haters and opinions!!
