I feel like being a “hopeless romantic” honestly makes dating even harder because you put so much hope, excitement, and emotion into the possibility of someone being “your person”. You start imagining what it could become before you even really have the chance to see whether it actually will. Yesterday I went on a first date with a guy who I genuinely thought could’ve been my person, and I was so excited and hopeful going into it… only for it to end up being such a letdown. 😕 And I think that’s what hurts the most is not just that the date didn’t work out, but that little feeling of “maybe this could finally be it”getting crushed all over again. I know one bad date doesn’t mean I’m never going to find my person, but I’m honestly getting to the point where I don’t know if it’s even going to happen for me. I want so badly to find someone to love, build a life with, get married, have a family, and just have that person who feels like home. Maybe that’s the hopeless romantic in me talking, but I don’t want to give up on that dream. I’m just really tired of getting my hopes up only to be disappointed.
