The dog is perfectly fine — she genuinely loves working and actively seeks it out. Whenever she sees her military harness, she gets incredibly excited and jumps for joy. Jessie especially enjoys our aircraft training; she is comfortable around the sound of the engine and gets excited about the training sessions that prepare her for the eventual jump, where she of course also has the appropriate equipment, including active hearing protection and a Dark Systems K9 helmet. This video isn’t just about doing pull-ups with my Malinois. It’s also part of our training, teaching her to remain calm while rappelling and to stay securely suspended from me. This is also preparation for future tandem parachute jumps with Jessie, as well as rappelling from cliffs or helicopters, where she will be secured to me and suspended from my harness. The pull-ups are one of the ways I get her used to being attached to me, staying calm and comfortable while suspended, and moving with me in this position. The equipment is specifically designed for this. She has a high-quality military harness made for tactical activities, and when she is suspended like this, the harness also has additional support straps under her hindquarters, providing her with extra comfort and security. I’m a K9 handler who takes my dog’s safety and comfort seriously, even during tactical activities. My K9 means everything to me, and I would never do something with her that I didn’t fully understand. Jessie is a highly trained working-line Malinois with many more challenges and activities ahead of her — this is simply how we train. 🇨🇿🐕

Genuine question, I’ve always dreamed of owning a Mali. I currently own a GSD, she’s insanely well trained and an incredible dog, I’ve worked with malis who come into the shelter I work at so I have experience with them, but I work 8 hours a day. Do people genuinely over exaggerate when they say Malis NEED 10 hours plus of work and training😭 or could they thrive off 4-6 hours?
