i find it particularly egregious that americans call french cowards considering if it weren't for french army you would have lost the revolutionary war

Yeah, but them giving up Paris because they didn’t want the historical buildings destroyed was ridiculous.

the French also overwhelmingly collaborated with the German occupation tho.
the French resistance (although it did kind of exist) was largely a myth created by the government after the war to paint france in a better light. even tho mosy French citizens agreed and assisted the Nazis

listen, it took the combined formidable forces of USA and Russia to win WWII, and only after nazis made fatal errors . Germany was a super warmongering power they had advanced modern technology compared to most European countries. of the time. Some infantry were still on horse while Nazis had tanks. I often hear English men running their mouth against France, but England is a remote island, and not the first choice of greedy invaders

The Maginot line did its job, it was supposed to stop Germany from invading directly into France and would instead take the fight to Belgium which it did.

Your work is fascinating! I know this would be a very difficult topic, but I’d really appreciate a video about what Ukrainian villagers ate during the Holodomor in the 1930s.

You’re such a nice person sticking up for the French, and yes, lazy history creates misinformation, so you have to clarify. =)

Also important to note that the maginot line passed into Belgium and was a joint agreement, the Belgians pulled out and wanted to maintain neutrality and let the fortresses rot

There was a bottleneck of German troops and tanks going into the ardennes that a French reconnaissance plane saw, and reported. The commanding officer dismissed it as a mistake and the germans continued. Can you imagine if the entire German army was annihilated with one bombing raid and ww2 was completely averted?

How is it 'lazy history' when that's exactly what happened? Not to mention they literally self evacuated Paris when the German Army approached. Didn't raise a finger to stop them.
