Developing my own thoughts based on the video: I mostly agree. Whilst I do absolutely support and applaud those who transition because of dysphoria, and actually take the time, effort and care into transitioning and being recognised as the opposite ‘gender’, I’d definitely argue that since 2020, being trans has become an internet trend. People, especially Gen Z, are just deciding that they want to change, in order to be different. They’ll go ahead, change their pronouns on their Instagram page, pop a trans flag in their bio and choose some completely irrelevant anime profile picture to seal the image. There’s no real feeling. I’ve known, and see constantly, young men claiming to be women whilst rocking a full beard and making absolutely no effort to change. Not to mention to excessive neo-pronouns, oh my god. People will generalise these groups, and create a poor image surrounding the entire community, because of a new generation of bored, attention-seeking young adults who just want to be considered different and outlandish. Straight up draining, and disrespectful to the rest of the LGBTQ+ community.
