As an ex banker, I saw irl how a lady got scammed out of more than 30k over time bc she swore willie nelson was her bf and needed money :( we tried to help her but she wouldn’t hear it, she passed away thinking she was really going to meet him. I hope the scammer rots in hell

En mi trabajo acaban de contratar a un señor unos 60 años tal vez y no sabe mandar emails ni manejar computadora, le hice un draft de paso a paso con fotos y todo para que no se le olvide nada, y antes de irme dejo todo set it up para que solo le de click a enviar y listo, porque cuando yo no sabía inglés una amiga colombiana le puso label a todo para que me quedara en el trabajo, al señor le explicó con manzanas h peras si es necesario, aquí todos trabajamos por necesidad y para el muy complicado lo que para uno es el día a día!

My boyfriend is the manager of a cell phone repair store, and he does classes on sundays at the library for elderly people to teach them about scams, how to use the phone, answer any questions etc. he doesn’t get paid extra for this, he doesn’t get overtime for this, he just, does it to help, he’s my why!!!

This reminded me of when I used to work at a US bank as a banker. Most of our customers were elderly, and I’d get a lot of calls from them asking me how to do this or that on their phones. I would often walk them through it, and sometimes it wasn’t even related to my job, but I’d still help because most of them were alone and didn’t have anyone else to help them :(
