I think this is confusing love with insecurity. Loving someone deeply and being afraid of losing them is completely understandable. But when someone else makes your partner laugh and your immediate reaction is a tight chest, racing thoughts and feeling threatened, that isn't love expressing itself. That's jealousy — usually coming from insecurity, low self-worth, trust issues or past experiences. That doesn't mean jealous or insecure people can't love. Of course they can. It means jealousy shouldn't be romanticised as evidence of how much you love someone. Love explains why the person matters to you. Insecurity explains why someone else feels like a threat. Those are two very different things.
