@aliveinthespirit33: Sometimes having a heart that loves deeply can feel more like a burden than a gift. You care intensely, forgive easily, remember the smallest details, pray for people who may never know you prayed for them, and give pieces of yourself without knowing whether they’ll ever be returned. And after enough heartbreak, you can start wondering whether it would be easier to become colder. Maybe if you cared less, trusted less, and expected less, nobody would have the power to hurt you so deeply. But the answer isn’t necessarily to harden the heart God gave you. It’s to become wiser about who receives access to it. Loving deeply doesn’t mean tolerating disrespect, ignoring red flags, or staying somewhere simply because you believe your love can change another person. Your heart can remain soft while your boundaries become stronger. And while none of us can know exactly how or when God will bring a future spouse into our lives, you can trust that you don’t need to force the wrong relationship out of fear that you’ll never find the right one. Pray for discernment. Become the kind of person capable of giving the healthy love you’re hoping to receive. Let God shape your character while you wait, and don’t mistake inconsistency or pain for the love you’re supposed to settle for. If marriage is part of God’s plan for your life, you don’t need someone who merely enjoys receiving everything your heart gives. You need someone who understands that a heart like yours is something to protect, respect, and cherish—and who brings their own heart ready to love you with that same intention.
