I was homeschooled because I was bullied and harassed at my old school. but not every child, or school, is the same. you know your kids best. no is no.

From a homeschooling mom- absolutely not. MIL is overstepping so much.

For me it's the assuming that is what was going to happen. I can understand if the MIL said hey can I talk to you about something or maybe sit down with both of them and have a discussion. But the way she did it was just weird

I would want my kids to go to school anyways not only for education but also for socialising and the opportunity to make friends

She’s not wrong. She could probably teach them far better than the garbage in public school.

How is that selfish? Oh wait, it's not. Also, its your kids, not hers and she's definitely overstepping

Many states don’t allow anyone other than the parents/ legal guardians to homeschool. As a former homeschooling mom her offering is absolutely weird!

I have a bachelor’s in education, a master’s in English, and a law degree. I also taught jr high English for 10 years. I am not qualified to homeschool.

take the offer! school is stressful for kids and very stifling. let them spend a few years at least homeschooled if you can.

I do/have homeschooled all mine, but my mother in law was constantly trying to butt in and take over, because she was a former teacher. She was actually a student teacher, and the real teacher ended up marrying my bil. So teacher SIL told us stories of how mil would literally make up false history to teach to the kids 😳😳😳

Yeah no way I’d let my MIL homeschool my kid. I don’t think there is anything wrong with homeschool just my MIL.

The very last thing I would ever do for my kids’ education would be to let my (ex) mother-in-law home school them!!

It also depends on the state. Some states only the legal guardian can home school the kids. I went through it with my oldest fri 2 years

yeah, id rather repeatedly close my junk in a filing cabinet door than give my parent unsupervised access to my child.
