@dani.davidson: I’m not sending my son to nursery with a ham sandwich, crisps and a cereal bar just because that’s what we’re told a “normal” kids packed lunch looks like 🫠 And yes, I know this will annoy some people. He gets REAL food. Food that actually looks like food. Food with protein, healthy fats, fibre, vitamins and minerals. Food that exposes him to different flavours, textures and ingredients instead of training his palate around beige, highly processed foods. He doesn’t need a separate category of “kids food”. He eats what we eat. That might mean leftover beef, eggs, vegetables, fruit, homemade bread, avocado, chicken, rice or whatever nutritious meal we’ve prepared. And before someone says “he’s only little”… That’s exactly WHY I care about what I’m feeding him. Early childhood is when eating habits, food preferences and familiarity with different foods are being built. I’d rather spend that time introducing him to a huge variety of real foods than convincing myself that ultra-processed food is somehow necessary because he’s a child. This isn’t about being perfect. It’s not about judging another mum. And it’s certainly not about expecting every parent to make elaborate meals at 6am. It’s about challenging the idea that children NEED sandwiches, crisps, biscuits, cereal bars and “kids snacks” to have a normal childhood. They don’t. My son is perfectly capable of eating the same quality of food we eat. So no, I’m not packing him a “kids lunch”. I’m packing him FOOD. And I genuinely believe we need to stop underestimating what our children are capable of eating. If you’re also trying to raise kids who love REAL food, follow along because that’s exactly what we’re doing over here🥦🍉🍓🍌 #toddler #packedlunch #food #mum #nutrition

Love your content! Please could you share some cold lunch ideas? My son starts back at school in a few weeks, I brought him a stainless steel lunchbox but short on ideas to put in there! Thank you x

I think this is amazing!
how do the Nursery approach this with the other children, allergies etc do you have to let them know what's in there or are they okay
Also can they pick if you can bring food in or if they have the Nursery food
inspired for my children in the future like you say they cant miss what they haven't had
👏👏👏

I feel your the pro to ask, what’s great in fibre for a 1 year old that’s constipated 😣 I feel like I’ve tried everything, he always has balanced meals with lots of fruit and veg so I don’t know where I’m going wrong! Xx

How do you manage birthday parties/large events? When my LO was younger I just used to say no thank you to cakes and bits and would have our own version of treats available but she’s starting to recognise everyone else is having them now and I’m not sure if it’s worth just letting her have whatever every now and again or if it’s a slippery slope 😅
