@whoknowsthepassword: #megumi part 4 of editing Megumi to Phoebe bridger’s new album 🫠 let me explain my choices before ppl start making assumptions 🤓 “let’s see how far I can run without stopping” I feel is pretty obvious, so I’ll leave that for ppl to decide “and they can pretend to be me” i used as a reference to not Gojo and Megumi’s relationship specifically, but how Megumi was always considered Gojo’s prodigy before Yuta or Yuji. He was considered very successful as a sorcerer, due to the amount of shikigami he had tamed and his general abilities. we hear this from a lot of ppl. it also refers to how ppl seem to consider the cirumcstances surrounding Yuji and Yuta with Gojo saving them as the same circumstances to Megumi. but they aren’t. of course, Yuji and Yuta didn’t have many choices; it was die or get strong enough to break your own curse. but Megumi’s choices were; stay on the streets with your sister, wait for the Zen’in to come and be abused as well as your sister, or become a Jujutsu sorcerer for the rest of your life. Gojo didn’t “save” Megumi, in the way that they say he saved Yuji and Yuta. he gave him a less worse option. “Pretend to be him” can be referred to how Yuji and Yuta saw Gojo as this strong adult that saved them and that they owe for showing kindness, while Megumi sees Gojo as this flawed individual bc Megumi feels like he owes him as a debt, not due to kindness. “Since she took my place in that bed on that stage” I used to show the transfer of the ten shadows technique; the thing that made Megumi so unique and important. another user has come, but we have no information about the past of the previous user (Megumi). They swap roles, in a sense, with yuka now being the one laying down her life to save her friends by summoning mahoraga. “Being myself wasn’t easy. Do it for me” I wanted to relate to how we haven’t been shown a “perfect” ten shadows used. We’ve been shown their different techniques as users, and what they do with the technique that is within their range. And with Megumi he always felt like he wasn’t enough of a sorcerer or that he was letting someone down by not being able to meet his potential. and due to this, he lost himself and what is important to him. “Don’t for me” is Megumi telling yuka to not be like him and that her capabilities and what she can gives aren’t what makes her who she is.
